wip Wednesday {8/29/12}

I usually have Wednesdays off. It was nice having a day off in the middle of the week to spend some time with my son. We'd go to the zoo, the children's museum, the park or the library. But guess what?
He's in school every day now so I'm on my own. You think I'd get a lot accomplished but I've managed to waste most of the day on the computer.

My husband and I celebrated 8 years of wedded bliss last week. I thought we agreed to not exchange gifts but he bought me a new camera. I love it and I'm not going to feel guilty I didn't buy him anything!
(After years of taking pictures with a point-and-shoot digital camera, a phone and an iPod, it seems really awkward to hold a camera up to your face!)

Now on to the crafty stuff. . .for our September blocks my do. Good Stitches circle is making converging corners quilt blocks from film in the fridge.  I completed one of my blocks.

They are easy and a lot of fun but time-consuming.  It's a great way to use scraps and the final quilt should be  pretty awesome.  I've enjoyed making my two blocks but I don't know if I could make a whole quilt by myself.  Today I'm going to try to finish my second block.

Maybe I should start quilting my polka dot pinwheels?  It's only been hanging on the back of the couch for most of August.

And maybe while I'm at it I should do something about this mess!

  2. Congrats on the back to school adventures and the anniversary! Honest, you'll get into a groove with your free mornings soon. Love those pinwheels and totally agree that as wonderful as those converging corners blocks are, it's daunting to think of doing a whole quilt of them.
