A Few Comments on Being a Mom

So my blog is supposed to be about balancing crafting with being a mom, and I realized I hadn't commented too much on the mom aspect. In the last 17 months, I have been sick more times than I have the entire rest of my life (aside from my own chronic childhood ear infections). I woke up this morning with my second pinkeye infection. I've also had an ear infection that resulted in a perforated eardrum, a terrible case of pneumonia, and more colds than I can count. I knew daycare was a source of illness, but I didn't think I'd get them all, too.

On another note, I've started cleaning out our basement so I can create a crafting haven. I really want an organized place to work so I can make the most of my crafting time, and I lost my craft room when we needed to make room for the baby. I found my copy of "What to Expect When You're Expecting." I was so excited about being pregnant and the changes that were happening that I faithfully read every section of that book at the appropriate month of gestation. I then found my unopened and unread copy of "What to Expect the First Year." The first year flew by so quickly, I didn't have time to read about it. We were too busy living it.
